Karakami is a traditional Japanese decorative paper created using techniques similar to woodblock printing. It is made by applying intricate patterns to paper using hand-carved wooden blocks.
Originally used as fusuma (sliding door) paper to enhance traditional interiors, karakami is now also utilized in modern spaces as wallpaper, architectural elements, and lampshades.
Both paper and printing colors can be customized, and we also accept requests for original designs. Please feel free to contact us.
About the Pattern
Cherry blossoms have been beloved as a symbol of spring in Japan since the Heian period.
This design alternates between yin and yang flower forms, combining slightly narrower petals with the broader Kōrin-en style blossoms to create a harmonious contrast and a rich, festive atmosphere.
