The material is heavy and hard, with a fine texture.
It is a deciduous tall tree that can grow to a height of 30 to 40 meters. The leaf of this tree is featured on the national flag of Canada.
Also known as the sugar maple, its sap is used to produce maple syrup and maple sugar.
